Google Classroom Data Use

What access Class Coach requests

The student chooses to connect their school Google account through Google OAuth. Class Coach requests read-only access to the student’s active courses, published coursework, and the student’s own submission information. Class Coach cannot create assignments, change grades, submit work, manage a roster, or send email through these permissions.

Google information we receive

• The connected Google account identifier and email address.
• Course names, sections, rooms, and Google Classroom links.
• Assignment titles, descriptions, due dates, point values, status, and links.
• The connected student’s submission state, late or missing status, assigned grade, and limited teacher feedback when Google provides it.
• OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to maintain the connection.

How the information is used

Imported information appears in the student’s Class Coach classes, calendars, assignment lists, and progress tools. Authorized linked parents or guardians can see appropriate assignment and progress information. Class Coach uses the data only to provide and improve these visible educational-support features, maintain the requested synchronization, and protect the service.

Storage and sharing

OAuth credentials are encrypted at rest. Imported information is stored in the student’s Class Coach account and is protected by account and linked-family authorization. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train a generalized AI model. Connecting Classroom does not by itself send imported data to an AI model. We may use infrastructure and security providers acting for Class Coach to operate the service, subject to appropriate data protections.

Your controls

• Disconnect Google Classroom: deletes the stored OAuth connection and stops future synchronization while preserving previously imported classwork.
• Disconnect and delete imported data: deletes the OAuth connection plus imported assignments, submissions, grades, and Classroom links. It keeps the student’s class workspaces and student-created work.
• A user can also revoke Class Coach through their Google Account permissions and contact us to request deletion of the account or remaining information.

Google Limited Use

Class Coach’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
